GasPak EZ Campy Container System Produces microaerophilic environment for growth and isolation of Campylobacter jejuni. Each sample sachet of the GasPak EZ Campy Container System is activated and placed in the incubation container. The container is sealed according to label directions and observed for the time required for visible condensation to form. The container is then incubated at 35 ± 2°C. After approximately 2 h, a 22-gauge 1.5 needle is inserted into the incubation container and a sample of the gas is removed, placed in a gas chromatograph, and analyzed for the amount of oxygen present in the incubation container. The percent of oxygen for each container is 6 to 16%. After approximately 24 h incubation at 35 ± 2°C, another sample is taken from the container and analyzed for the amount of carbon dioxide. The percent of carbon dioxide for each container is 2 to 10%. The average time for visible condensation to appear inside the incubation containers is within 20 min after activation.
