Nutrient Easygel® Agar Petri Dish Kit - The convenient alternative to nutrient agar petri dish preparation. This kit comes complete with 10 specially coated petri dishes and separately bottled media. When ready for use, simply pour the nutrient media into the supplied dishes and allow approximately 45 minutes to harden. The plates are then ready to use! Unused plates can be stored in the refigerator for 6 months. Perfect for beginning scientists in the educational laboratory. Nutrient agar is a generalized medium that supports the growth and maintenance of a wide variety of bacteria and fungii. Each kit comes with ready to pour bottled media, sterile petri dishes and instructions.

STERILE COTTON-TIPPED SWABS - for solid surface testing: Sterile, disposable, cotton-tipped wood applicators. Each measures approximately 6" long. Individually wrapped. Each swab should be used only ONCE on ONE test surface area. Swab the surface of the solidified agar, using a gentle rolling-twist action of the swab in a zig-zag pattern. Do not overlap previously inoculated areas of the agar. Item 25-806 Pack of 10 swabs: $5.00

INOCULATING LOOPS - for water testing : Pack of 10 1uL sterile inoculating loops ~ Dip the loop end into your test water sample ONCE and gently drag it across the surface of the solidified agar. Continue to spread the loop across the agar surface, being careful not to overlap previously coated areas. Coliscan® Easygel® Agar Petri Dish Kit - This easy to use kit allows even the young student to easily and reliably determine the presence and differentiaion of E. coli and total fecal coliforms in water samples. Disclaimer not required for purchase. Using patented technology, this kit contains a dye that is processed by E. coli to form a purple colony while other types of coliform bacteria form a pink colony. Teal or colorless colonies will indicate bacteria which is neither E. coli or other coliform types. Each kit comes with ready to pour bottled media, sterile petri dishes and instructions. Scienceware® Sterile Petri Dishes - Constructed of clear polystyrene with optimum flatness for excellent optical clarity. These high quality disposable petri dishes are packaged sterile with gamma radiation in accordance with USP and AAMI guidelines. The underside of the dishes are ribbed which allows adequate ventilation to prevent condensation buildup. Three different styles are available:

* Slippable style is constructed without a stacking ring on the lid of the dish

* Fully-stackable style is constructed with a recessed lid to allow stacking of the dishes in columns

* Semi-stackable style is constructed with a raised beveled edge for convenient removal from a column stack
